Reports to: All Managers and Trainers

Job summary:
Responsible for preparing and serving beverages directly to customers seated at the bar as well as for the servers and cocktail servers who place orders for customers seated in the lounge area or at dining tables. Also responsible for food service to those quests seated at the bar.

Essential functions: must be able and able to:
Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes and supplies in an efficient and professional manner according to standing operating procedure
Complete all side work and as assigned
Prepare ingredients needed recipes of mixed beverages
Use equipment as prescribed in preparation of beverages
Safely and efficiently use knives and other utensils necessary to complete preparation of beverages
Prepare beverage as prescribed recipes including alcohol content
Use proper method according to standing operating procedure to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
And be responsible for cash drawer
Operate all functions of bar service alone and without assistance if necessary
Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar utilizing available communication including computer register system
Communicate cordially, clearly and effectively with co-workers
Present and encourage current promotional information and materials to guest
Communicate with guests in a friendly, courteous and service orients manner
Accurately account for all guest check issued
Accurately record and account for all items served to guests and other employees
Secure manager's signature fro many comp'ed or voided item
Accurately accept payments from guests
Accurately account for and balanced all sales and receipts
Accurately tender change for guests, servers and cocktail servers
Account for and maintain security of bar stock inventory
Perform calmly and effectively under pressure
Perform more than one task at a time
Relate to guests pleasantly and with good humor
Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of bar service according to standing operating procedure
To master restaurant's computerized register system within 5 days
Refrain from smoking for the duration of the shift
Handle and accurately account for large sums of money while under pressure
Assist host staff with answering telephones
Master the restaurant/s telephone system within 2 days

Accountabilities: must be willing and able to:
Acquire and wear appropriate uniform as prescribed in the training manual
Maintain and clean uniform
Maintain a well manicure appearance as person and reflects the established image of the restaurant
Be an active team player
Follow supervisor's instructions
Work under more than average stressful conditions
Make appropriate judgment calls under stressful conditions
Ensure that all alcoholic beverages are correctly recorded on quest check by servers and cocktail severs
Assist servers in preparing appropriate presentation of beverage
Maintain clean and orderly work area throughout shift and leave it ready for the following shift
Determine when to discontinue service to an intoxicated quest
Responsibly and immediately advise co-workers and manager of and suspected intoxication of guest
Communicate problems to management immediately

Qualification standards:
Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent. Must have accurate mathematic skills. Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverage. Must have through knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions us use. After training, must be able to pass an exam in English within 90% or better in each of the following:
Menu and specials
Wine list
Liquor list and recipes for special; drinks
Liquor liability laws and knowledge
Accounting procedures
Individual restaurant orientation material including rules and philosophies

Must be able and willing to:
Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Be courteous, pleasant and good natured
Communicate with and understand the average guest
Provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
Respond to the needs of difficult guests with patience and courtesy
Accept constructive criticism
Get along with co-workers
Stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
Move safely through all areas of the restaurant
Work amidst noise in confirmed crowded space
Work with and account for large sums of money
Assist busboys with the cleaning and resetting of tables
Move chairs, transport high chairs and/or booster seats to table when necessary
Work nights weekend and holidays

May not take or give away any unauthorized company property including food or beverage
May not eat or drink certain unauthorized items during a shift
May not work under the influence off alcohol or other mood altering substances
May not keep any unauthorized items in personal locker
May not resort to any physical violence or harassing behavior
